Nubia Z60S Pro is the closest to a high-end device
I have been using the Nubia Z60S Pro as my personal cell phone for several weeks now, and I think it has great news for those looking for something high-end at a price that does not exceed 600 euros.
If you are looking for a high-end mobile phone, it is most likely that its price will not drop below 800 euros, although there are some models that offer several features typical of this segment at a price suitable for all audiences.
This is the case of the Nubia Z60S Pro, a mobile phone that I have been able to test for several weeks and that has surprised me in several aspects for this price, which is close to 600 euros.
Below, I will tell you why this Nubia phone is a good opportunity if you want to make the leap to a slightly higher range.
The Nubia Z60S Pro has the brand’s traditional design, with its characteristic sliding button
The first thing to note about the Nubia Z60S Pro is that it repeats the already characteristic design that the company uses for almost all its phones, with a rectangular finish that makes use of the entire screen.
Thus, the corners are slightly rounded, achieving good viewing, although in this model the notch does appear at the top, so you will have the notch there when accessing full-screen applications.
On a day-to-day basis, it is a phone that you will notice when you carry it in your pocket, as its dimensions make it a fairly large phone, while its weight reaches 220 grams, so it can also be heavy.
However, I don’t think this has a negative impact on the experience, as its finish makes it easy to grip and I have never found it uncomfortable when spending long periods of time with it.
The great news is that in the connectivity section it has the possibility of inserting 2 SIM cards, in case you need to divide the mobile according to your use, as well as a sliding button on the side that works with different shortcuts.
Thanks to this, you can choose various functions, such as quick access to the camera or to game mode, among others, such as activating the flashlight. It’s a button that I don’t usually see, but one that I consider essential in many cases.
An outstanding screen with a notch that doesn’t let you make the most of it
Another of the characteristics of many Nubia models is the absence of a notch; in the case of the Nubia Z60S Pro, the manufacturer has chosen to place it at the top, something that can be modified through configuration, although this means losing a large part of the panel at the top.
This notch, as you may know, can be annoying when viewing content in full screen or playing games with the screen in landscape mode, although its high quality will make you forget about this practically.
Thus, it is a panel that has nothing to envy to the high-end, and that I have found perfect for comfortably navigating between applications or for viewing content, such as series and movies, in a very pleasant way.
Unfortunately, although the experience is outstanding on its screen, it does not allow you to add headphones with a jack, so you will need wireless headphones or headphones with a USB Type-C adapter, the same as for charging.
Nubia opts for a high-end chip that is not new, but never disappoints
As for the internals, the Nubia Z60S Pro opts to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a high-end chip that has been on the market for quite some time, as there are higher-end versions.
The choice of this one is, in all probability, due to the possibility of lowering the total cost of the phone, but without sacrificing power, because this processor also shows very good results.
According to the analyses carried out, it is a mobile that could perfectly compete for the high end, slightly below some of its peers in this segment, such as the Nubia Z60 Ultra.
The configuration I have analyzed in this content is the one that comes with 12 gigabytes of RAM, which can be extended with an additional 12 gigabytes virtually, in case you find yourself lacking a higher value.
As for the temperature during long periods of use, I hardly noticed it getting warm, except when you have the camera app open for a long time.
Finally, this version has 256 gigabytes of storage that cannot be expanded via microSD, so you’ll have to think carefully about whether this space is enough for you.
The customization layer of the Nubia Z60S Pro is very respectful of Android
If you have never tried a Nubia phone, this section may seem strange to you, as MyOS 14.0, based on Android 14, is a fairly customized operating system.
Thus, the phone allows you to select different shortcuts on the scroll button, as already mentioned, and adds to its camera menu several automatic and preset shots, with a very easy-to-use interface.
As for the different Google services, it’s good that the Nubia Z60S Pro has all its applications in the same folder that greets you when you start up the phone.
In short, even if you’ve never tried its operating system, you won’t notice any big differences with a purer layer of Android, so if you come from that operating system, you’ll know how to handle it.
Although its camera is not exceptional, it does offer some very useful automatic modes.
Before talking about its photographic section, I will share with you the camera settings of the Nubia Z60S Pro:
Main camera with 50-megapixel IMX906 sensor, with an aperture of f/1.59 and optical image stabilization (OIS).
50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 125º field of view.
8-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture.
16-megapixel front camera with f/2.45 aperture.
In general, both the main camera and the ultra-wide-angle camera offer quite good results in natural light, although I am less convinced by the telephoto lens and the front camera.
In any case, it comes with several preset modes in case you want to take good photos automatically, for example of a starry night, with the perfect settings to offer remarkable photographs.
As you can see, the Nubia Z60 Ultra is far from the most premium segments in this section, as it offers results in line with its price range without standing out in any area. However, I think its camera is very good if you opt for automatic shooting for many scenes.
In addition, I think its portrait mode offers very good photos, thanks to the inclusion of AI to improve the results, as you can see in this comparison with a normal shot. You’ll have a worry-free day of battery life.

You’ll enjoy a worry-free day of battery life
As for its autonomy, so that its performance is not affected, Nubia has chosen a 5100 mAh battery, more than enough to be able to use the phone for a whole day without worrying about recharging it.
As for charging, it is worth mentioning that the box includes an 80 W charger, the maximum allowed by the Z60S Pro.
According to my tests, the phone charges halfway in just over half an hour, while you’ll have to wait about an hour for a full charge, a fairly reasonable value if you need it quickly.
Verdict: Is the Nubia Z60S Pro worth buying?
The Nubia Z60S Pro could be placed in the upper-middle segment, due to the fact that it comes with a price tag of 599 euros in its configuration of 12 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage, the one you have seen in this review.
I don’t think it’s necessary to access more RAM on this type of mobile phone, although you may not be convinced by its storage space, as it is not expandable; however, you can always use cloud storage.
After analyzing it for several weeks, I think its price is quite competitive when you consider everything this phone has to offer, with its design, screen and performance being its strongest points.
