Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 is one of the thinnest and lightest keyboards

Logitech is an expert in keyboards and peripherals. With the new Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 you can have a keyboard for laptops, mobiles and tablets that weighs practically nothing and takes up less space than a notebook.

If you have a tablet and think you can get more out of it than watching YouTube videos, surfing the internet and using it as the content consumption device in your home, you can always add a keyboard and mouse and turn it into a laptop replacement.

Not all tablets are capable of becoming a replacement for a laptop, either due to performance or size, but most are more capable than you might think. That’s why a product like this recently released Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 Bluetooth keyboard is the perfect accessory for anyone who wants to use their tablet as what it is, a tablet, but also as a laptop.

I’m passionate about keyboards, although I’m not a fan of mechanical keyboards, I have more keyboards than a sane person should have in their possession. And Logitech has historically been one of my favorite brands when it comes to keyboards and mice, for example with the Logitech MX Keys Mini or the Logitech MX Master 3S mouse that I use every day.

Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 is not your typical keyboard. It is specially designed for tablets as an accessory that you can use whenever you want, without having to have it attached to a case. But it is also fully compatible with mobile phones and computers, which makes it very versatile.

A lightweight, compact design with a 3-year battery

The design of the Logitech tablet keyboard can be summed up as compact and lightweight. It is designed to be carried in a backpack or bag and you will hardly even know you have it, which is why its weight of 222 grams is perfect for an accessory like this.

It has an almost standard key size of 18 millimeters, although there are some smaller keys, the less used ones. It has three special keys to connect to 3 different devices, as well as a physical button on one edge to turn it on and off.

Compared to the previous generation, also designed for tablets, they have managed to reduce its size considerably while maintaining stability and a comfortable design.

It is a keyboard designed to be taken from one place to another, which is why – and this is an unusual detail – it includes a protective cover to prevent it from getting damaged when you put it in a backpack. This cover can be rotated and allows it to be raised a few millimeters so that, when placed on a flat surface, it is more comfortable to use.

Technically it does not include a battery, but works with two button cells that give it enough power to last, according to Logitech, up to 3 years of use. To change them you have to access them by removing two small screws. But as this is something you will do very rarely, it is not a problem you should worry about.

Low-energy Bluetooth and no need to install software

Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 is a low-latency Bluetooth keyboard that is compatible with virtually any device that accepts a Bluetooth connection. Yes, Logitech has designed it for tablets, but I have been able to connect it to iOS and Android phones, tablets, PCs… Even to an Xbox Series X and a Smart TV.

It uses low-latency Bluetooth because the idea is that you have it connected to a device at a short distance and to save as much energy as possible. It’s not designed to be a gaming keyboard that requires an ultra-low latency connection.

The good thing about this Keys-To-Go 2 is that it is compatible with up to 3 devices at the same time. This means that you can pair it with three devices, whatever they are, and with the press of a key you can switch between them.

To pair it up you just have to press and hold one of those 3 buttons and it will appear in the Bluetooth connection settings.

As for software, you don’t really need any to control it, not even Logi Options+ like other keyboards of the brand.

Such a compact keyboard with very low profile keys, you have to get used to it

If you are someone who prefers mechanical keyboards to any other type of keyboard, you are going to have a hard time with Keys-To-Go 2. Even if you prefer low-profile membrane keyboards, this Logitech is somewhat difficult to get used to.

The idea of this Keys-To-Go 2 is to save as much space as possible, therefore the scissor mechanism, with a travel of 1 millimeter, can even be annoying for those who, like me, rather than pressing keys, pound the keyboard.

The key travel is extremely short, which means that the learning curve of how to press the keys is slightly higher than, for example, switching from a traditional keyboard to another.

It is a comfortable keyboard that allows you to type normally anything and, above all, for those who have to use the row of numeric keys, it is appreciated that the size of the key is standard and not reduced.

The experience connected to an iPad is perfect. It includes a key layout specially designed for iPad/iOS, as well as for Mac and Windows. You can control the brightness of the screen from the keyboard, as well as bring up the emoji menu, control music or video playback or lock the screen.

The only thing I didn’t like is that, being so compact and using an ISO layout in Spanish from Spain, less used keys such as Ç, [ or { are smaller and very close to Enter.

I have also been using it with an Android mobile, specifically with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and indeed you can use it to write texts, but it has been especially useful for me because I connected it to a monitor with Samsung DeX, which essentially offers you a computer-like experience using the mobile as a CPU.

Conclusion: Is the Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 worth it?

Logitech Keys-To-Go 2 is an excellent keyboard for those who want to use a tablet as a computer from time to time, without complications and with a battery life that lasts for years. One of the best options you can have right now in Bluetooth keyboards specially designed for tablets.

The big drawback of Keys-To-Go 2 is its price. The official price is 94.99 euros, which is quite high compared to the hundreds of options you can find, for example, on Amazon.

But if you are looking for a keyboard that you can use on various devices, that weighs nothing and that you almost forget you have in your backpack or bag with your tablet, it is undoubtedly one of the best options you can buy right now.
