Complete Review of the Dreame H15 Pro: A Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for the Future

I have been using the Dreame H15 Pro electric mop for a month now, and this is my first time trying this type of product. Compared to a regular mop, I have found the following pros and cons.
Having worked in the tech product review field for over eight years, I rarely come across new product categories I’ve never tried before, but the Dreame H15 Pro is exactly such a product—this wet/dry vacuum and mop combo was launched in Spain in February.
This device is also known as an electric mop and competes with high-end models like the Dyson Wash G1, promising to combine two functions in one machine—vacuuming and mopping—to save time on household cleaning.
Over the past month, I have been using the new Dreame H15 Pro as a replacement for my usual cleaning setup: a wireless vacuum cleaner and a traditional mop.
What surprised me about this high-end product is its advanced features, such as its starting price of 699 euros, which includes a charging dock and automatic cleaning functionality similar to expensive robot vacuum cleaners, as well as its ability to remove stubborn stains.
However, overall, I must admit that using a traditional mop for cleaning at home still yields better results, and in many cases, it doesn’t save much time or offer the level of automation I expected. Therefore, unless you need to clean very spacious public areas, I would find it hard to recommend this product, which is not cheap.
Design and battery life: Looks smart, but battery life and charging performance are disappointing
The Dreame H15 Pro is the highest-end wet and dry vacuum cleaner, with a first-class design, but there is room for improvement in battery life and charging performance.
This vacuum cleaner looks similar to a vertical vacuum cleaner and consists of a handle with buttons, which is very comfortable to use for someone of average height like me, which is commendable.
It is quite heavy at 5.8 kilograms, which might make it difficult to use… but it’s not as bad as it sounds. The Dreame is equipped with an electric system that allows the vacuum cleaner to move forward on its own, so you only need to guide the direction, which is ideal for cleaning when you’re tired. However, it takes some time to get used to turning it with your wrist instead of your arm.
The rectangular design with rounded corners makes it easy to use, and the rubber parts effectively cushion impacts. However, the water tank is made of transparent plastic, so any scratches will be permanently visible. This is quite bothersome for me, as it is located at the height of the radiator.
The best thing about the Dreame H15 Pro, aside from how effortlessly it moves like magic, is that its design allows for completely horizontal scrubbing, so I can fit it under some furniture. However, don’t expect miracles—as I mentioned earlier, I couldn’t clean under the radiator because the main unit couldn’t fit: traditional mops have the edge here.
The H15 Pro comes with a charging dock and automatic emptying feature, which is where it should always be kept. I find it convenient, even in my small apartment, and it doesn’t take up too much space. The battery is the standout feature, but it’s also where I’m a bit disappointed.
Considering the price of nearly €700 and the 6×5000mAh capacity, I was expecting more: in my 50-square-meter apartment, vacuuming the entire house and then thoroughly mopping the floor is impossible without using the charger.
Perhaps someone can operate it faster, but 40 minutes in smart mode isn’t enough for me, and to achieve the 400 square meters of coverage promised by Dreame, you have to operate it very quickly.
Additionally, the 4-hour charging time makes me feel that the charging dock doesn’t meet the standards of a high-end product. This model clearly falls short of the Dyson Wash G1, which only requires 1 hour to charge.
Cleaning performance and modes: stain removal exceeds expectations but still falls short of a regular mop
The Dreame H15 Pro offers 4 operating modes: Smart Mode, Vacuum Mode, Turbo Mode, and Custom Mode.
The mode I use most frequently is Smart Mode, which automatically adjusts cleaning power based on dirt levels detected by built-in sensors; Vacuum Mode is solely for dusting, such as on carpets that cannot get wet; and Turbo Mode is ideal for heavily soiled areas or stubborn stains.
There is a 780ml water tank at the bottom, which I find a bit small, as it only supports approximately one full cleaning cycle. This means that in my small apartment, I sometimes need to stop and refill the water during cleaning, which is not the case with a regular mop.
The dirty water tank is slightly smaller, easy to remove, and easy to clean—just rinse it with tap water. However, don’t leave it sitting for too long, as it emits an unpleasant odor even when in use, and some hair and long fibers become very difficult to clean when wet, even with cleaning agents. Please keep this in mind.
This vacuum cleaner isn’t as efficient as a traditional mop when cleaning corners and narrow spaces, but I must admit that its cleaning performance truly surprised me.
Especially since it can remove makeup stains that my partner accidentally spilled on the floor, which are usually very difficult to clean. If you need to clean a spacious area quickly, this could be an excellent purchase.
I like that the floor stays relatively dry in most modes, drying in just a minute or two, whereas a regular mop leaves the floor damp.
However, to be honest, after vacuuming and mopping with a regular mop, I feel like my home is much cleaner and smells better, even though it comes with a 500ml bottle of cleaning solution (unscented, produces only foam). Dreame recommends not adding any other cleaning agents, which may be disappointing if you’re particular about the scent of your cleaning products.
Base and usage: Almost all operations are automated, but there are a few minor drawbacks
The Dreame H15 Pro’s base supports automatic cleaning and 100-degree air drying, which I consider one of its biggest selling points. It’s recommended to set the cleaning program every time you place the vacuum back on the base to avoid forgetting. Base cleaning speed is slow: automatic cleaning takes about 10 minutes, and drying takes 30 minutes. Regardless, cleaning must be done before drying.
Maintenance for this product is very simple, requiring only a brush (to prevent tangling) and occasional cleaning of the roller. In nearly a month of use, I’ve only needed the brush once to remove my partner’s long hair that had gotten tangled in the roller.
If you connect the vacuum cleaner to the internet, using the Dreamehome app is the best option, though there are buttons on the handle. However, I ended up using the app very rarely.
