The Asus Zenbook Duo (2024) is an all-round laptop. I think it’s the most versatile computer you can use in 2025: you can use it in book mode, as a laptop, or as a tablet.
Asus has computers for all types of users. The Asus Zenbook Duo (2024) is a mix between a laptop for work or editing and a tablet, thanks to the versatility offered by its two screens.
The Asus Zenbook Duo (2024) is the most versatile I’ve tried.
When you take the Asus Zenbook Duo out of the box (and even from the box itself), you can see that it is a laptop with a very careful design and, above all, very comfortable to use with one hand, standing up or when carrying it around.
In my case, I have taken it with me on trips and I have been impressed by its durability when carrying a backpack full of other items. That’s why I think it could be a great option if you travel a lot for work or are looking for portability, weighing approximately 1.5 kilograms.
In this regard, it has not been scratched or dented, making it more than durable. That said, it is quite thick when used as a laptop, due to the second screen underneath the keyboard, which is removable.
So, to give you an idea of its versatility, you can use it as a tablet, horizontally or vertically, use it as two screens and a separate keyboard.
Although the keyboard is not bad, it does not feel like typing on a laptop, but rather resembles the magnetic keyboard on tablets. In any case, it connects via the Bluetooth button on the left side, which also adds a charging port.
I haven’t been able to get much out of the dual-screen format, which is more designed for creativity, although I think it could be a good idea if you use it for video editing.
Not only does it add two screens, but they are the best thing about the laptop.
They are the crown jewel. The two OLED screens featured in the Asus Zenbook Duo are outstanding in every way.
In terms of features, they are both identical: 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreens with 91% screen-to-body ratio, leaving space for the laptop’s name.
I found both the color and brightness spectacular, with all the advantages of OLED panels so that there are no annoying reflections.
In terms of refresh rate, I chose to activate 120 Hz by default, as 60 Hz was the default setting. It’s true that battery consumption increases, but I’ve noticed that the touchscreen is more fluid.
However, when switching screens, I’ve noticed a slight delay, like when you connect your PC to a TV with an HDMI cable. It’s barely a second, but you do notice that slight change.
Otherwise, I think that if you’re looking for two outstanding screens, this Asus laptop is a delight.
Power for editing, although the software could still be improved
The processor chosen for the 2024 Asus Zenbook Duo is one of the latest offerings with a dedicated AI NPU, the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, coupled with 32 gigabytes of LPDDR5X RAM.
In everyday use, it doesn’t perform badly, although it’s not as good as you might get with other types of processors, especially considering that the graphics card is made by Intel.
So, it’s not a laptop designed for gaming, except for the least demanding games, but rather for productivity and design.
As you can see, in synthetic tests, it scores well in multi-core performance, i.e., precisely those processes that require the most processing power.
Otherwise, the software has also been adapted to the laptop’s function.
It includes the ScreenXpert application, which allows you to adjust settings such as the display, display mode, brightness, and color, among others.
For its part, Asus Dial & Control Panel is the app chosen to customize the screen where you use that dial you’ve seen. With it, you can easily edit videos in supported programs. In my case, with CapCut.
However, I missed both a getting started guide for less experienced users and greater customization. In some cases, I think the chosen software can be a bit confusing, with missing features.
The battery is one of the best features of this laptop.
In terms of battery life, the fact that it has two screens is noticeable, and the computer heats up considerably, although I have never been bothered by the sound of the fan, which is barely audible.
During a working day, with several office applications open, as well as browsers and editing or recording tools, the Asus Zenbook Duo can easily last a whole day.
However, the most positive thing about its 4-cell battery is that it can be charged to 100% in approximately one hour, meaning you can use it almost immediately.
In addition, its charging cable fits anywhere, as it is barely larger than a mobile phone charger.
The Asus Zenbook Duo (2024) is a versatile and innovative laptop that is not for everyone.
The Asus Zenbook Duo (2024) is a good laptop if you are looking for different possibilities when it comes to editing pictures, videos or working. In all these situations, I think it is one of the best.
However, I don’t think it’s a laptop for everyone. In my case, I don’t think I’d find a use for it as I’m not a professional video editor, but thanks to its storage, RAM and versatility, it’s ideal for content creators.
However, you’ll need to think carefully about the investment, as the Asus Zenbook Duo is priced at $2,599, which is on par with gaming computers. So think carefully about whether this laptop is right for you.
