The Asus ProArt PX13 is the best with its AI processor

Blog

I have tried the Asus ProArt PX13, a laptop specially dedicated to tools with artificial intelligence, as well as photo and video editing, and it has become my favorite for these jobs.

Asus is one of the laptop manufacturers with the widest range for users, from those specialized in video games to others aimed at people looking to improve their productivity or a computer for content creation.

The one you see here, the Asus ProArt PX13 (HN7306) is a laptop designed to make the most of its RTX 40 series graphics card and its Ryzen processor dedicated to artificial intelligence processes.

After testing it for several weeks, I think this Asus ProArt PX13 deserves a place among the best laptops for editing videos and images and getting the most out of AI.

Designed to be taken anywhere with you and with ports so you don’t miss a thing

Lightweight, convertible and compact. These are the three main adjectives that describe the design of the Asus ProArt PX13, which has a perfect finish for using it as a laptop at home or taking it wherever you need it.

In this sense, I think its measurements are more than right for what it offers, but don’t be fooled: it’s small, but tough, as you’ll see in the graphics and performance section.

What’s more, thanks to the fact that it’s a convertible laptop, you can use it in the way that suits you best. So it can be a tablet or a laptop, depending on what you find most comfortable at the time. Personally, I always prefer the laptop mode, with keyboard, although you can take advantage of its touch screen if you prefer a tablet.

In any case, there is great news in other aspects of the design, such as its touchpad, which comes with a dial to facilitate the work of content creators and video and image editors, in addition to the shortcut key to Copilot, which I will talk about later.

The keyboard also has 3 levels of backlighting, so you can see the keys in any situation; one of these, for example, directs you to the Asus software for content creators.

Now, despite its size, it has all the connections necessary for someone who uses the laptop for design: HDMI, USB type A and C ports, headphone jack and even a separate USB-A to Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 adapter, something that is not usually seen.

Its OLED touch panel is impressive, although you will sometimes notice reflections due to a somewhat low brightness

Asus has opted for a 13-inch OLED panel for the ProArt, which, in my case, I loved. Although in the screen section, it all depends on what you need.

On a very positive note, I must highlight the color fidelity – which also allows editing using software, with the ProArt Creator Hub app, which I will talk about – although I have missed a little more brightness in environments with natural lighting.

Only then will you notice that your reflection is visible when the screen displays black or dark colors. In any case, I don’t think it’s a negative or annoying point to work with.

Here, too, there is great news for creators: it has the Asus pen for easier image editing, as its panel is touch-sensitive.

The sound is not bad and it does what you would expect a normal laptop to do: you can hear both films and music in quite a lot of detail, but it is not outstanding.

This Ryzen AI processor reminded me a lot of the Intel Core Ultra 9 in the Asus Zenbook Duo (2024)

The star processor in this Asus ProArt is the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, a model specially designed to launch demanding tasks related to artificial intelligence, as can be seen in tools like MuseTree.

Personally, this chip has been very similar to the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H that you can analyze in this year’s Asus Zenbook Duo, a processor also aimed at reserving a part of itself for artificial intelligence-related processes.

In fact, according to the static tests that you can see below, their scores are really even, although the ProArt comes considerably closer to the Apple Silicon M3 of the MacBook Air M3, a very positive point for this Asus.

As you can see, this laptop has been specially designed for very demanding editing tasks, so you won’t have any problems. However, although you can run heavy, next-generation video games, you will notice that the laptop gets warm on the lower part of the screen.

In any case, this ProArt won’t let you down at any time. Add to this more than enough autonomy for a day’s work, although it might be a bit short if you take it somewhere.

Finally, it should be noted that it takes very little time to charge compared to other laptops. If you use it at the same time, you’ll have it ready again in an hour.

Its applications are vital for editing images or videos

I have tested numerous Asus laptops throughout the year and, in all of them, I have found an outstanding software section. In this sense, it is very noticeable that the manufacturer wants to offer added value with it.

So, when you start using it you come across the ProArt Creator Hub application, a tool through which you will enter the world of Asus tools. With it, you will be able to access the best functionalities.

For example, with tools like Asus Dial & Control Panel, which allows you to add multiple functions to the touchpad dial; MuseTree and StoryCube, with artificial intelligence tools, and others with direct access for editing, such as the popular Adobe Creative Cloud and CapCut.

Of course, if you prefer to add functions to the dial in other different apps, you can do that too. In this sense, it is a perfect laptop if you edit images or videos, as it has everything you could possibly need.

Conclusion: is the Asus ProArt PX13 worth buying?

After several weeks with this Asus ProArt PX13, I have found many positive points. Of particular note is the good use it makes of the processor, to which it adds an almost unsurpassed portability, a very good option if you want to edit away from home.

I think this manufacturer knows how to adjust the design of its devices very well to the type of user it is aimed at, so the introduction of the dial on the touchpad seems to me to be a great success, as it is a tool that will make your editing work easier.

There is no component that causes problems with this laptop, although to highlight a point that I did not like, I must mention its battery life, which is not the best on the market if you start using tools like CapCut.

In any case, its price of just over 2,000 euros makes it a fairly affordable option; in this segment, it is not usual to go below this barrier.

In my opinion, this ProArt is perfect if you are looking for a terminal to take anywhere to edit your photos and videos.
