The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 is a perfect tablet, which you will surely love.

I found the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 Aura Edition to be superior for several reasons. In this model, everything has been designed to bring together the best in design and productivity.
It is one of the best of the year if you are looking for a laptop for work or study. During the weeks I have been able to test the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 Aura Edition, it has become a must-have for this type of task.
Thanks to its collaboration with Intel, Lenovo has created one of the best models for the era of remote working, distance learning, and hybrid working, with a very lightweight—and durable—device that can withstand any journey.
So that nothing takes a back seat, its Intel processor has also been designed for office tasks, design work, or when you need to consult Copilot. In short, this Lenovo laptop offers the best for these tasks without being overly expensive.
It’s durable, very lightweight, and its screen looks smaller than it is.
The design of this edition of the Yoga family is very similar to other laptops in the series, such as the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i—leaving aside the big difference in performance—or the Yoga Slim 7x; in this case, this Aura edition falls halfway between the two.
As usual, Lenovo has left a kind of tab dedicated to the camera at the top of the panel, something already widely used in the company’s laptops. However, the most remarkable thing about this laptop is how light it is for how sturdy it looks.
It is made of magnesium alloy, as well as recycled plastics in other parts of the computer, and you can tell when you pick it up, as it does not accumulate fingerprints or smudges, and during testing, I only had to clean the touchpad, which does tend to get dirty.
In short, with the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Gen 9 Aura Edition, you’ll have a laptop that can withstand any trip in its case or backpack, as well as one of the most elegant and lightweight devices on the market, weighing just 1.5 kilograms.
As for the sides, it includes all the ports you need for everyday use, although there is no card reader, so if you need this, you will have to purchase an additional adapter.
In addition to the ports, the camera lock and power button are also located here.
This makes much better use of the keyboard and, as a result, the keys appear larger than usual, even though the numeric keypad on the right-hand side has been omitted. However, this is logical given that the laptop is designed to be compact and easy to carry.
For this reason, the 15.3-inch screen looks very well designed in this regard, as it appears to be smaller than it is. In terms of viewing, it is incredible, although I think it could be brighter than 500 nits or have an anti-glare panel, as this is noticeable in the black colors.
Finally, the one I tested has a multi-touch screen, although it does not allow the laptop to be used at an angle greater than 180 degrees. I think this would have been a plus for the touch option, as it is not very comfortable to use in this way when positioned as a laptop.
It’s not the most powerful, but it will never let you down
Almost as soon as it was released to the public in October 2024, I was able to test the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, a specialized chip that showed me that power isn’t everything when it comes to performance.
Before you think about buying a laptop, you should check the processor carefully, as each one is aimed at a very different audience. In this model, you’ll find one that specializes in artificial intelligence processes, but not so much in demanding video games.
That doesn’t mean you can’t play games, as in my case, some that don’t require much, such as Marvel Snap, or others that are a bit more competitive; however, that’s not what this laptop is focused on.
It’s worth noting that this laptop was developed in collaboration with Intel, so everything has been designed with this manufacturer’s components in mind, including the built-in graphics.
It comes with 32 gigabytes of RAM, more than enough to prevent slowdowns when using several tools at once, and Copilot’s response is really fast; however, the RAM is soldered to the motherboard, so you can’t change it.
As for battery life, it’s true that it decreases significantly if you play a game and use other apps at the same time, such as Spotify or WhatsApp. With a gaming session, it lasts approximately 5 hours, depending on the game settings.
This figure increases significantly when you only use office tools or different applications that don’t demand the most from the PC; here you can get twice as much battery life without any problems, and you’ll never notice the laptop getting hot. It’s wonderful in this regard.
Another very positive point is that the charger is only slightly larger than a mobile phone charger, which again enhances the portability that this Slim model focuses on.
With it, you can charge this Lenovo laptop in just 1 hour, with smart charging options that adapt to your usage, extending the battery life. In my opinion, these are good numbers for working or studying with it.
A very basic camera, but with software dedicated to productivity
In a laptop designed for productivity-related tasks, such as this one from Lenovo, a decent camera is always a good addition, as you will need to access calls related to work or study.
I think that, although in this case it’s not the best resolution on the market (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), it’s more than enough for making video calls without any problems.
As you can see, the quality isn’t outstanding, but it’s in line with the rest of the laptop, and it also includes a button on the right side to block the camera when you want more privacy.
I should mention here that you’ll get much more out of your laptop if you decide to use Lenovo Vantage, an app designed so you don’t have to search for settings in the Windows 11 menus.
Honestly, I think Lenovo’s app is one of the best, both for its ease of use for less experienced consumers and for having everything in one place.
