With a price of approximately 300 euros, it is one of the best options this year for those on a tight budget.
After several weeks of testing it, I think it has some big surprises in store in some areas for this price range.
The Honor 200 Lite is an example of a beautiful and comfortable design in a mid-range mobile
The first thing to note about this Lite model of the Honor 200 is that it is one of the most comfortable phones I have ever held, due to the fact that its weight is really well balanced.
In addition, its rear cameras are not very bulky, so it is a handset that you can comfortably carry in your pocket. In this sense, it can be a great compact if you are looking for this type.
In addition, it has metallic glossy edges that make it look like a higher-end phone. However, I missed some connectivity issues.
Although it doesn’t have the latest connectivity features, Bluetooth 5.1 is sufficient for fast connections and also allows contactless payment via NFC. So, you’ll have everything you need.
However, if you’re one of those users who use wired headphones, you’ll have to opt for a USB Type-C adapter, as in this case it’s the same input as for charging your mobile.
Finally, I found the fingerprint unlock on the side very strange; it was something I hadn’t seen for a long time and I always get confused. It’s a small detail that, in any case, doesn’t detract from the design.
A high-quality panel that comes with 90 Hz refresh rate
As for its panel, it may be one of the best screens you can find in this price range.
On a day-to-day basis, I have hardly noticed any problems with either the colors or the brightness, even when going out into direct sunlight, so it more than fulfills its purpose here.
However, its refresh rate is between 60 Hz and 90 Hz. In my case, I have noticed the difference, as I usually use 120 Hz and, although it is hardly noticeable, it can be a step backwards if you come from a 120 Hz mobile.
Also, if you’re looking to play games, I don’t think you can do without 120 Hz; if you’re not going to be playing video games, you’ll hardly notice the 90 Hz refresh rate.
As for the sound, at maximum level it can distort some songs, although I don’t think it will be a problem.
It’s not the most powerful, but it won’t let you down
For its interior, the Honor 200 Lite has chosen MediaTek, with the Dimensity 6080 as the mid-range processor.
In everyday use, it is a chip that will not let you down, as it does not show any slowdowns when entering more demanding processes and, moreover, it does not overheat the mobile phone too much.
In addition to this, it has 8 gigabytes of RAM, so think carefully about whether this amount will be enough for what you are going to use it for; in my case, I always opt for at least 12 gigabytes in case I launch more demanding video games or apps.
In any case, I haven’t noticed any problems, beyond certain video games, in which the mobile does suffer, although this is solved by lowering the settings.
For its part, the chosen layer is MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14, so if you are an Android user you won’t notice anything strange, beyond the fact that this mobile has some pre-installed Honor apps, as well as others such as Booking.
It arrives in a day, although you will have to wait more than an hour for it to charge
As for its autonomy, it seems that the Honor 200 Lite’s battery is more than enough to last a day, depending on how you use it.
With moderate use, it lasts over 24 hours without any problem; if you choose to access video games or other more demanding apps that have an active screen, the value is significantly reduced.
Otherwise, it has a 35 W fast charge, the most common for its range. In this case, for a full charge you will have to wait approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
Its main camera is remarkable, although the other lenses seem more decorative.
This is the camera configuration of the Honor 200 Lite:
108-megapixel main camera, with an aperture value of f/1.75.
5-megapixel wide-angle and depth camera with an aperture value of f/2.2.
2-megapixel macro with f/2.4 aperture.
50-megapixel front with f/2.1 aperture.
On a day-to-day basis, it should be noted that with the main camera you can get very good results, something that does not happen with the wide-angle and macro cameras, the latter with hardly any quality in the photograph.
the Honor 200 Lite is not very powerful but it is sufficient for everyday tasks
What is most striking about the Honor 200 Lite is its very low price, as it can be purchased for 329 euros, although it comes with temporary offers in which Honor gives away the Band 7 and the 66 W adapter.
In total, you will pay barely 300 euros for all that, so it is one of the best in this respect.
According to my tests, the Honor 200 Lite is a great phone if you don’t mind leaving aside issues such as wired headphones, the fingerprint reader on the side or the refresh rate and its secondary cameras.
