Roborock Qrevo Curv, a cleaning robot that has convinced me
I have thoroughly tested the Roborock Qrevo Curv, one of the company’s latest domestic cleaning robots, and I think it is one of the best in the segment, although you will have to be willing to make a large investment.
In the case of the Roborock Qrevo Curv, which I have been able to analyze in detail, this manufacturer has managed to incorporate all the latest advances in a spectacular and very futuristic design that will fit into any home.
During this analysis, there are some very positive aspects that have surprised me and that make this robot one of the best in the high-end range, especially on larger surfaces.
Its charging station will look good in any room, although it is more recommended in large houses
The first thing to highlight about this intelligent vacuum cleaner and scrubber is its spectacular design, with a rather futuristic finish in a white color that usually goes well with the appliances you have in the kitchen.
However, the charging station is large, so you will need a good place to put it, if you add to that the security measures of the robot itself. In this sense, I have to tell you that I tested it in a 2-storey house with enough space.
I think it’s a good robot to put in a house with a lot of space; on the other hand, I doubt it would be a good cleaning companion in a small apartment, despite its excellent navigation and cleaning capabilities, due to the obstacles and smaller spaces.
For example, I have noticed that due to its large size, that of the robot itself, it can find it a little difficult to pass under some chairs if they are not the same size as or larger than the cleaning robot.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Roborock Qrevo Curv is an excellent cleaning robot if you want to clean large areas automatically, with a tank for clean and dirty water and a drainage system. In my case, it didn’t suffer when covering the more than 100 square meters of the house.
In short, if I had to buy this robot, I would use it for large houses or those with several floors, as it will be a very convenient way to avoid having to scrub every few days. In addition, you will have a high-end model with the latest in domestic navigation.
Its camera with artificial intelligence is the best I have seen in a domestic robot
In all likelihood, this section is one of the key points for any cleaning robot. In many cases, these devices do not have cameras, and even less so with an AI that recognizes objects automatically.
In the case of the Roborock Qrevo Curv, I think its camera allows it to do an excellent job of recognizing its surroundings. So the first contact was mapping, as with any robot, something that didn’t even take 20 minutes.
This mapping time seemed very strange to me at first, since in all the ones I have tried, this number increased to approximately one hour; after checking that the map was correct, I discovered that this cleaning robot is incredible in this sense, as well as being reliable.
Also, if you’re worried about leaving it alone with the lights off, the robot is equipped with a flashlight next to its camera, so you never have to worry about that. As if that weren’t enough, you can configure it from the app for homes with pets, carpets or multiple floors.
It has different cleaning modes, something it does wonderfully on any type of surface
In terms of the final cleaning results at home, this robot is capable of vacuuming and mopping, the latter thanks to the 2 mops that come separately and are installed thanks to their magnets, something that is really simple.
Like almost all current robots, the Roborock includes different cleaning modes, with the option of mopping, vacuuming or all in one, as well as different passes, which can also be customized from the application itself.
In addition, you can choose the type of surface for each room, from tiles to wood for parquet floors, to which you can add the drying of the cloths after each cleaning, or as you decide from the application.
In conclusion, it is a robot that does the work for a thorough cleaning, if you prefer to have a device of this type that saves you hours and hours of vacuuming and scrubbing.
Roborock, the app to control absolutely everything
In my opinion, Roborock has one of the best applications I have tried for controlling the cleaning robot of the same name. The version I have analyzed is for Android, although it is also available for Apple iOS.
In any case, this fabulous tool allows you to select really interesting configurations, again with something that in my case I had never seen in a robot, such as obstacle detection with a list of furniture that even includes pet food.
In addition to being able to configure the suction power or the water used for mopping, as well as the return to the station to clean the mop, it is a very useful application, although it is not suitable for beginners in this segment.
In this way, I think Roborock could have explained each function in more detail, as there are many, and they would deserve a separate report, even adding the option of live viewing of everything the robot sees.
Be that as it may, the company’s app has become my undisputed favorite for locating, ordering or positioning the robot at any time.
Of course, with the brand’s own assistant, to which Alexa or Google can be added.
It has a more than enviable autonomy, even at the maximum cleaning level
In this section, as with any device, it all depends on the mode you choose, as well as the desired power or the number of passes you choose.
If you use it at the maximum level, with two passes over a surface area of 100 square meters, it can last about two and a half hours, returning to the water station to recharge or empty the tank approximately every 15 minutes.
In any case, it is a cleaning robot that has an autonomy of about 4 hours, which makes it perfect if you want to leave it to clean during the morning, so that when you get home everything is sparkling clean.
Like any robot, it needs maintenance.
The only negative point you may find in this robot is that, like any other, it needs maintenance over time, as some parts must be replaced when they reach the end of their useful life.
However, the Roborock app will also notify you when the robot needs a replacement part; in any case, the parts tend to last quite a long time, depending also on how you use it.
For example, the filter lasts about 150 hours, the main brush 300 hours and the side brush 200 hours. However, there are also other aspects that do not normally need to be replaced, such as the sensors, in case the robot breaks down unexpectedly.
In any case, both the mop and the dust bag will need to be replaced, depending on the wear and tear that the user sees. In the box there is a bag for dust and dirt and an extra filter.
Conclusion: Is the Roborock Qrevo Curv worth it?
During my analysis of the Roborock Qrevo Curv, there are several aspects that surprised me in a very positive way and that I consider a big step forward for these robots.
This is the case of its oval design, one of my favorites, in addition to its AI-based navigation system; if we add to this that the cleaning is excellent, this robot becomes one of the best available on the market.
However, as is often the case with high-end robots, its starting price is a little high, so it will be a big investment if you decide to buy it, as it can be purchased for 1499.99 euros.
